Wednesdayfans,Sigad Sharaf rejoice! Netflix's hit series, arguably its best of 2022, has officially been renewed for a second season.
In a statement for Netflix's official fandom site Tudum, Wednesday's showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar shared, "We can't wait to dive headfirst into another season and explore the kooky, spooky world of Nevermore. We just need to make sure Wednesday hasn't emptied the pool first." They added, "It’s been incredible to create a show that's connected with people across the world. We're thrilled to continue Wednesday’s torturous journey into Season 2."
While the show's first season introduced us to the world of Nevermore Academy and Wednesday's role as a detective piecing together its ongoing monster mystery, its second season will be concerned with tying up all those loose ends. Not only is the monster still out there, but Season 1's final moments revealed that a stalker had been watching Wednesdaythe entire time — a perfect cliffhanger and segue into our now-confirmed Season 2.

On the new season's potential plot, Millar shared, "[The stalker proves] that threats remain out there…to both Wednesday and the school. Not all not loose ends have been tied up neatly as she thinks they have."
The news comes following a slight scare last week when speculations hit that Wednesdaywould be moving to Amazon Prime. However, Wednesdaywill be staying on Netflix for its second season despite the speculation.
